THE ROYAL OAK
201-203 Longbridge Rd, Barking IG11 8UF
Set in the heart of Barking, beer has been sold on the site of the Royal Oak since at least 1855 and will be reopening under the creative stewardship of Alan Grants’ Queen House venues.
Working alongside hospitality specialists Blackdog, they will be renovating, refurbishing and reinvigorating the Royal Oak into a venue for all occasions and bringing the feel and attitude of highly successful Paxton to its new sibling.
From an extensive range of craft ales, cocktails right through to poutine, the bar and integrated open kitchen will be the star of the space, which will be divided into areas for cosy Sunday’s lunches to raucous Fridays DJ sets.

Walking into the entrance the customer will be allowed to explore and populate the various spaces as their mood takes them.
From the large traditional pub ceilings of the main space to the intimate laid-back music conservatory with its sofas, plants and dappled sunlight for acoustic sets.
They will find the covered garden terrace looking out onto huge pallet sharing tables, covered and shaded by tenting and divided by reclaimed water tank planters filled with vegetables to be used in the Royal Oak’s kitchen.
From here steps lead you down to Royal Oak’s festoon topped croquet lawn.
